"Last year I worked with Genevieve Uys of Traveling Donors to assemble and coordinate a complex plan for achieving first-time parenthood through donor-donor IVF in Mexico. The process began with thorough goal-setting discussions during which Genevieve became familiar with my personal and donor priorities. She sent me numerous donor profiles until we narrowed the selections further and landed upon a wonderful woman who felt like the right fit. The next step involved planning and coordinating the IVF process by identifying options that matched my financial and logistical priorities. As an American single mom by choice, I had been interested in pursuing an international option and had already become somewhat familiar with IVF programs in Mexico. I had also done extensive solo travel in the past, including to Mexico. It happened that the donor already resided there, so Genevieve and I jointly pursued more details about the costs and logistics of IVF programs offered in clinics in the donor’s general region. At the same time, Genevieve conveyed information regarding the donor’s availability and vice versa to coordinate what became a summer plan during my academic summer break. She was responsive to and respectful of my stated financial goals while endeavoring to keep me on track with scheduling priorities. I ultimately chose one of a few clinics we had narrowed the search down to, and Genevieve stepped in to work with clinical staff to coordinate the specifics of the donor’s egg retrieval process. As the process got underway, Genevieve advocated for the donor and for me, maintaining frequent communication amongst all parties and keeping me updated about the donor’s progress and outcome. She advocated further at a slightly later time when I was trying to obtain some clinical data that was not initially forthcoming. While she and I both had access to English-speaking staff at the clinic, it helped to have the direct involvement and voice of an experienced professional in the field of egg donation through the entire process. Later in the summer after my own preparation, I traveled to the clinic myself and, working with a doctor designated for foreign patients, successfully underwent an embryo transfer leading to my current pregnancy. As I near my due date, I remain in contact with Genevieve and look forward to continuing to share updates with both Genevieve and the donor. It was a long and winding road – across two countries – for sure, and at times, I was not sure whether the complexities of the plan, combined with my own sets of priorities, would prevent it from ever coming to fruition. It took me several months to reach the final stages of decisionmaking and planning, and fortunately, Genevieve continued checking in with me and with the donor, forging a path for everything to still come together. I am humbly thrilled to be approaching my new role as a mom and anticipate traveling to Mexico at some point with my child to revisit my IVF journey with her and build new adventures together."

"Conscientious. Responsive. Competent. Not always common in this industry but Genevieve is the right contact to navigate this complex journey with. We were working with multiple agencies simultaneously to find a very specific, hard-to-find donor profile, and Genevieve was unequivocally the most dedicated. She was incredibly proactive, continually sending us profiles from multiple countries until we found the perfect match. Because our search was so specific, we had to look globally. We explored multiple options, including backup routes in Mexico and Georgia—each with its own set of pricing structures and logistical complexities. We ultimately chose a wonderful donor from South Africa to fly into New York for our cycle. Bringing a foreign donor into the US is incredibly complicated. You have to navigate strict FDA regulations, precise infectious disease screening windows, international travel restrictions, and the visa logistics of getting the donor into the country. Unfortunately, our initial clinic had a very strict interpretation of these FDA rules for international donors, which completely blocked us from moving forward. We thought we had hit a dead end. However, Genevieve is incredibly well-connected in the industry. She proactively reached out to her network of contacts to find a solution. Her efforts and guidance gave us the confidence to switch to a new clinic in New York that understood how to legally and safely accommodate our cycle. She flawlessly coordinated with the new clinical staff, managed all the international travel, and ensured 100% FDA compliance so we wouldn't face any more delays. Above all, she made sure our donor was incredibly well taken care of and comfortable navigating a new country. If you are doing an international donor cycle, you absolutely need Genevieve in your corner!"
